On the evening of Saturday 22 January, I went to run a drawing workshop for children at the Central Library of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle at the Jardin des Plantes de Paris, as part of the Nuits de la lecture and around the book Charlie et le champignon, written by the wonderful Julieta Cánepa and Pierre Ducrozet and which I illustrated!
The evening began with a reading of the tale, as well as explanations about mushrooms and underground life by Marc-André Selosse, microbiologist and professor at the Muséum. Then, while I ran the workshop, it was possible to go and visit the magnificent Salle des vélins of the Library, where incredible historical works about mushrooms had been selected and exhibited. Some of my original drawings were shown alongside them.
